Eckel's power units are designed to provide maximum power output from a compact and rugged design. Electric or diesel powered units are available to provide reliable power to tubing tongs and other applications. Hydraulic power units are available in standard or custom designed configurations. Our units meet the industry's highest standard through every step of design, manufacture, and quality-control. Expendable parts are specially selected from the best of recognized brands for easy replacement in any part of the world.
Electric Units
Eckel electric power units are available in 50 Hz, 190 or 380 Volts and 60 Hz, 220 or 440 Volts. These unit consists of the electric motor, starter, hydraulic reservoir, heat exchanger, pump, and othercomponents mounted on a skid. A centrally-located lifting eyefacilitates hoisting the unit to the drill floor or to other desired locations.
Diesel Units
Eckel's power units are available in standard or custom designed configurations. Eckel's standard diesel or electric power packages (65 GPM and 2,500 psi) are widely recognized for dependability and long, trouble-free service. Standard units come with three, four or six cylinder Deutz engines and large hydraulic oil reservoirs that efficiently dissipate heat. All units are equipped with either air or water-cooled engines and are mounted on askid with storage basket for hoses.
Diesel Power Unit (Hazerdous Area)
Eckel also supplies diesel and electric motor driven hazerdous area type power units with custom configurations to match your requirements. These diesel power units are equipped with special systems that will shut down the power unit if explosive gases are present, oil temperature rises to high, oil pressure drop, and if the engine fan belt breaks. As pictured above the hazerdous powers units can be offered with extra capacity hydraulic oil and fuel reservoirs.
Cold Weather Hydraulic Power Units
Eckel's cold weather service hydraulic power units provide trouble free operation even when the temperature drops below -40°F (-40°C). With the unit enclosed by insulated panels, you are insured that all components will be protected from the extreme cold. Operational control of the power unit may be provided by a optional remote stop/start. The hydraulic tank features a built in heater unit that automatically heats the hydraulic oil to operational temperature within 30 minutes in extreme cold conditions.
Being easily adaptable for summer operation, the power unit is an All Weather Hydraulic Power Unit. Opening of the doors and utilizing an optional internal air blast heat exchanger will condition the power unit for summer operation.
