Torque Control Systems:
Torque Control Systems: These systems are used on hydraulic power tongs as a method of assuring proper torque is applied to drill pipe, drill collars, casing, tubing, or sucker rod connections. Torque readings taken from an in-line load cell. When a preset determined value is reached, a dump valve is activated and tong operation ceases. Mounted on the tong or at the drillers console and operated by the tong operator or driller, the Torque Control System will display the torque applied to the connection in "real time". Any flaws in the tubular make-up process will be readily shown in a graph. The connection data is electronically stored in addition to being able to print a report for permanent documentation.
